What A Day!!!

I cannot believe what a beautiful day it was today!  After Owen napped, we decided to head out to enjoy the day.  Our plan was to introduce O to Nelson's ice cream, then head to the Teddy Bear Park.  So much for plans....we got to Nelson's and it is still closed for the season.  We got to Teddy Bear Park and it was still closed for the season. :(  So, we headed down the hill and enjoyed Stillwater for the afternoon.

First we enjoyed good old fashioned Dairy Queen!

Then we met two new friends, Lou and Sunny (this is Sunny)

We found lots of sticks and pine cones to play with...

Then Owen gave mommy heart failure by going down a REALLY tall slide

And he did a great job on it!

Our Little Fish

Owen started swimming lessons today.  What a gorgeous day too!  He's taking lessons with Sully and Liam again and we were all joking about how last year, we didn't have one nice Saturday between March and May.  It was so cold and rainy.  Every week, we'd have to hurry to dry the boys off, then bundle them all up and take them out in the cold.  What a difference a year makes!

Cheese!

London Bridge is Falling Down!

After lunch, our neighbors had their new puppy Bella outside, so we got to meet her.  Owen kept squealing and talking about her nose.  They were a little leary of each other at first, but she decided she liked him and licked his hand.

Odds N Ends

Wow, I've been slacking!  Paul has been traveling a lot, so there hasn't been a lot of time to sit down and blog.  Here's what we've been up to!

Last week Owen had a friend over to play.  My friend Lisa and her two kids came for dinner and then Nick stayed with us while she took her daughter to hockey.  Nick is going to be 5 in April, so he's older, but he's so kind and gentle with Owen.

On Friday night, Paul's Aunt Laurie and Uncle Scott came over for dinner.  They brought a birthday gift for Owen and he LOVES it!

Can't you open it any fast Uncle Scott?!?!

On Saturday, we went to our last music class, then after nap, we headed to Sully's 2nd birthday party.  Sully has been on vacation, so it was fun to see the boys all together again.

Remembering how to share again....
He found Sully's Lala
Sully and his bus cake
I wanted to get a picture of the three of them together before Liam had to leave, but Sully just got a bike for his birthday, so he didn't want to be in the picture!
Today was such a nice day, we HAD to get outside.  Owen was so excited, he hugged the tree!
Hello old friend!  I'm so happy to see you!
Like monkey daddy, like monkey son!
Weeeeeeee!

Photos to Show Girlfriends Someday....

I found these Yo Gabba Gabba undies online a while back, so I ordered them for Mr. Owen.  I showed them to him this morning and he loved the Brobee ones.  He went potty on the potty chair, so while I was getting a new diaper for him, I put his Brobee undies on him.  Are they not just the custest things ever???

Two Year Well Child (yes, it is now called child, not baby) Check Up

How sad, it's official that he's no longer a baby. :(

Today we had Owen's 2 year check up and it went very well.  I wasn't surprised, since we just had his NICU appointment, but it's still good to hear!  His stats were a little different than they were the other day: Height 36.5" (92nd %ile), weight 27lbs, 6oz (45th %ile), and Head 19.5" (75th %ile).  He lost a little bit of weight with this icky flu bug.  He was 28lbs, 4oz two weeks ago. He's feeling better though I think and he's starting to eat more, so hopefully we are kicking it!

Dr. Strong told us that we can switch him to 1% or skim milk now, so that is exciting -  no more buying t\wo different kinds!  She asked about potty training and was very excited that he's using it about two times a day and that he sometimes asks to use it on his own.

He was a chatty Patty, so she got to hear all about a bus, a ball, Muno's Lala and Papa's watch!  He was infatuated with her tools, and she let him play with her light.  He was pretty giddy!

Another great appointment that didn't include shots.  YEAHHH!!!  He doesn't have to go back now until he is 3 years old.  And his next NICU follow up is at 4 and a half years, so let's cross our fingers that we aren't at the doctor until the next check ups!!!

Cool Tricks, Cool Tricks!

On Owen's favorite show, Yo Gabba Gabba, there is a segment called Cool Tricks!  Here is O's latest cool trick!
