A Day on the Farm!

We spent the morning with our good friends, the Withers family, at Gale Woods Farm. We did "chores," met animals, enjoyed the beautiful day and topped it off with lunch at the Minnetonka Drive-In. It was a great day!

Woodbury Days

Tonight we spent some time at Woodbury Days. We saw our friends the Jensen'sm our neighbors, as well as Owen's pediatrician. We enjoyed some "fair food," then visited the petting zoo.

After almost getting poked by a stick, the camel paid Owen back by going in for a smooch!

Owen at 18 Months...

Today our little man turned 18 months old. Where does time go? Seriously?? It feels like just yesterday I was looking at a 3 pounder with amazement, wondering, "How do you change a diaper on a baby this little?" Today I wonder, will he lay still for me to change him or will he be off and running before I can get a new diaper on him!

At Owen's well baby check today, he was 33.5" tall (85th percentile), 25lbs 6oz.(45th percentile) and his head is 19" (85th percentile). His pediatrician said he looks great.

Owen is a very happy, smiley kid, but he's definitely testing his boundaries and has been known to throw a dramatic little fit or two. He says, "Mama, Dada, Papa, NahNah, Woof, Quack, Ding (which sounds more like Ging), bubbles, Ronda, and Toot-toot (into a paper towel tube). He nods and shakes his head. He makes Ronda nervous every day because he walks forward while turning his head and looking backwards. He loves to read books and will get a stack, then crawl up in our laps and want us to read to him. We have one book, Snuggle Puppy, that is set to a song. He gets that book and rocks back and forth, asking us to sing it to him!

He loves water and fusses everyday when Ronda makes them go inside from the pool or the water table. He loves to go for rides in his wagon and is especially happy if we come across a doggie on our walk. We have to watch him though - he's known for dropping his hat over the side of the wagon and making us have to go back to get it.

He loves to "help" turn off the lights, put his jammies in his hamper, put his shoes on, etc.

Overall, he is doing wonderfully - exactly what he should be doing at 18 months. Now, if only we could stop time for a bit so we could enjoy it for longer....every mom's wish I'm sure!

It's a Potty!

Over the weekend, we went to the store to pick out a potty for Owen. He's not ready to start training yet, but we wanted to introduce it and have it around so it is familiar to him when that time comes. We were getting ready for our party, and had folding chairs set up. He couldn't decide which he liked more, so he went back and forth between the potty and the folding chairs.

Going Down Steps

Owen has been going up steps for a long time, but over the past few weeks, he's perfected going down the steps. We often have to ask him multiple times to come down with us, but once he's on his way down, LOOK OUT!

Cousins!

We hosted a party this past weekend for my dad's side of the family. Owen loved being able to play with his cousins! I thought he could make a big mess in his toy room - multiply it by 5! They had so much fun though! It was worth it. On a side note, I went nuts cleaning my windows before the party with my new Norwex window cloths. I apparently didn't get one of the windows back in its track and this morning, the wind blew the bottom half of the window in. It crashed down on Owen's little table and shattered. (Thank God Owen was in bed still and not playing in there!) Poor Paul - he spent the day picking up glass, washing toys, vacuuming and talking to multiple places to order a new window. It won't be here for 3 WEEKS! So much for cleaning windows. I guess I better not do it again!

I didn't do it Mama!

Busy Day at the Zoo!

It was such a gorgeous day today, we decided to go to the zoo. Owen is so much fun this year - he giggles, screeches and points at the animals. His favorites today were the penguins, the bears, the prairie dogs and of course, the monkeys!

Everyone else had the same idea today, so the zoo was packed. We NEVER see anyone that we know at the zoo and today we saw our friends Scott and Tina and their kids, Marty and Katie and their kids and Jennie and Lance and their kids! It was crazy!

We finished off with an ice cream cone, which Owen loved. He chewed and sucked on the cone all the way to the car.

I do not like them Sam I am, I do not like green eggs and ham!

When we got home, it was time for a nap and a bath.
