Owen at 10 Months....

Owen at 10 months.....
Is very curious about the world around him. He is always reaching for things, scratching things to feel their texture, and putting everything in his mouth.

Has one tooth

Loves to play with his puppy stuffed animals.
Likes to stand at the ottoman (and drool on it too!). He doesn't quite understand yet that when he loses focus and turns away from it, he falls. He has been getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth for two months, but hasn't crawled yet. He loves to walk with help.

Is a very good eater. His favorites right now are peaches, mangoes and sweet potato flavored puffs. He eats solid foods three times a day and gets four 6 oz. bottles a day.
Holds his own bottle and drinks water out of a sippy cup.

Loves to play with his Sesame Street remote control. He giggles out loud when it blinks its eyes. He always flips toys over so he can see where the sound is coming from.
Wears a size 5 shoe , size 4 diapers and size 12-18 month clothing depending on the brand. He's so tall that we'll have to switch to 24 month jammies pretty soon or he won't be able to straighten out his legs!

Rubs his eyes and gets whiny when it is time for bed. He goes to bed at 6:45PM and wakes for a bottle at about 5:45AM. Lately he has decided that he only needs short little naps at daycare, which means he's a Mr. Cranky Pants!

Happy 1st Christmas Owen!

Christmas 2010 was an extra special one for our family. Last year, we got to have an ultrasound right at Christmas, which was a wonderful gift. But this year, we got to have Owen with us at Christmas and that was the best gift we could have ever asked for. Christmas meant so much more, getting to share it with him!

Here are some highlights from Owen's first Christmas:

Getting to wear a tie just like my daddy!

Going to Christmas Eve mass

Grandma and Grandpa were at church!

Daddy, get up, I think Santa came last night!

I've got this present thing downpat! First you scratch the box...

Then you tear off the paper...

Then you eat it!

I'm learning to smile when I see mom with the camera :)

A hammer just like daddy's!

Hello Mr. Bear

I like your bow

I will give you a bear hug!

Momma, I'm getting Mr. Bear!

Uh-oh, Mr. Bear is making a comback...

Looks like he's about to pin him!

And Owen makes a comback, pinning Mr. Bear!!!!

After we played with all of the toys that Santa left and Owen took a nap, we spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Showing Grandpa my new remote control

An Elmo bag!!!

Opening presents is hard work!

Puppy and monkey jammies!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Owen's First Christmas Celebration

Yesterday we celebrated Christmas with Paul's family. It started out a little rough when Mr. O decided that he didn't want to take a nap, but after catching a few zzzz's, he came around.

Mmmm...Auntie Dawn and Uncle Bob give the best tasting tissue paper!

Is this for me???

Deeee-licious!

Looking at Uncle Scott's fishies with Cousin Chrissy

Still waking up after my nap

Playing pool with Tate

Daddy and I decided we want a pool table...is that okay mommy?

Every time I try to get them in the triangle, they roll away...

Snow Days!

What have we been doing to keep ourselves busy on these snowy days?

Playing with my Elmo balloon...(Daddy wasn't quite as amused by it as I was)

Reading books...

Playing with my teething ring...

Chewing on my reindeer's hoof....

Chewing on the cow from my nativity scene....

Peaking at presents...

Heeheehee - Now I know what you are getting for Christmas!

And my favorite - trying to get the Christmas tree....

Hope you are having a fun, safe weekend!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree!

I've always loved turning off all the lights in the evening, turning on some Christmas music and enjoying the lights on the tree. It's even better this year when Owen is getting sleepy and is cuddly to just sit and look at the lights together. :) Being a mom brings all new meaning to Christmas!
Owen loves to bounce in his jumperoo and watch the lights.

Dinosaur or Rooster?

I found a cute new hat for Owen the other day. It's suppose to be a dinosaur, but everyone thinks he looks like a rooster.....what do you think?

All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth!

Over the weekend Owen's first tooth started to pop through! He's been teething for months, so we were wondering when it would come in. He also spent the weekend saying "Mommommommom." I don't think he understands yet that I'm mom, but it still is fun to hear him say it! :)

Owen's 9 Month Stats

I took Owen in for his 9 month well baby check up today. The nurse had me strip him down and go into the hall to weigh him.
21 pounds, 12 ounces

I put a diaper on him and she measured his length and his head and went out of the room to chart his stats. A few minutes later, she came back and said that she had to measure him again because his length was a huge jump. She measured him again and he was the exact same - 29.5 inches. She said that he must've had a pretty big growth spurt since he laid very still and her measurement was accurate. So on the charts, he is in the 80th percentile for height, 70th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for head.
When the doctor came in, she was shocked at how big he was. She even looked back at her charts because she said she would have never, ever guessed by looking at him that he was 10 weeks premature. YEAY!!!
Overall, he's doing great. She told us to work on clapping and waving with him and to put toys up on the ottoman so he will stand and play. She said that typically babies start to do these things around 9 months, but that he may be a little bit later.
He got his flu shot and he didn't even cry! He whimpered a tiny bit after she walked away from him and then he started squirming around, ready to get out of there.
