Teddy Bear Picnic

Owen woke up on Saturday morning congested, with a runny nose. Today it moved to his chest, so we have been trying to find fun things to do indoors. In addition to finger painting, playing with dry pasta shells, coloring, dancing, and watching "Gabba," we made a fort and had a teddy bear picnic.
Mr. Bear, do you want a bottle?
Feeding all these bears makes me thirsty!

Misc. Photos

This week was pretty low key at the Mordorski house. We had our family photos taken for our Christmas cards on Wednesday at the Historic Sibley House, then had lunch at Axel's afterwards. I had kind of forgotten that that Axel's is a little fancier and was having second thoughts when I saw the white linen table cloths and candles on the table. Owen was a very good boy for both the pictures and lunch though! This morning he woke up with a stuffy, icky nose, so we are shut in for the weekend to get him back on the mend.

Here are just a few fun photos I took of our little man this week:

Owen's "Auntie" Pammy spoils him rotten. We met her for lunch in River Falls last week and she gave him this adorable puppy hat. He's so busy and always on the move, that I haven't gotten a great picture of him wearing it yet, but here are a few of my attempts!

Mr. O is obsessed with shoes right now (or shzzzz as he calls them). He constantly wants to be putting on his shoes - and other people's too! I thought that I would get out some slippers I bought last winter that were too big for him and let him go to town. He had a blast. We laughed so hard. He's wearing his cute little jammies and has these big, brown, fuzzy feet. He high-steps in them and could not look more adorable!

Taking a rest on the way downstairs!

"Bear" feet

I LOVE these shoes! I eyed them for a long time, but couldn't justify spending $25 on a pair of shoes he'd probably wear just a few times. I happened to see them one day on sale for half off, but when I got to the register, the price was even lower - $4!

Listen....Do you Hear the Wedding Bells?

My friend Jen and I have always wanted to have kids at the same time so that one day, they can get married. We have it all planned out. ;) When little Miss Piper and little Miss Lucy arrived, we kept joking about which one Owen should marry. Tonight he got to meet them for the first time and he was pretty interested in Piper. I'm sure that will change many times throughout the years though!

Checking out baby Piper

Piper says, "But I'm too young to get married to him!"Not sure if he should be worried that daddy is holding another baby....

Watch out World...Here He Comes!

Today we took Owen out on his first ride in the Burley. He loved it! He giggled and kept looking to see where I was at. We even stopped at the playground to play, but he was only interested in the dandelions, not the playground. Silly kiddo!

Getting all strapped in (then got my helmet adjusted so it fit right!)

Como Zoo with the Born Family

Ronda took a long weekend off, and both Paul and I had the day off, so we decided to meet up with our friends, the Born family at the Como Zoo. Sully Born goes to daycare with Owen, so they had the day off too. It was a gorgeous day to be outside!

After giggling and pointing, he reached down to touch the water and would've jumped right in if we would have let him!

Ferdinand the Bull

Ronda mentioned the other day that Owen reminds her of Ferdinand the Bull. He is a character in a book who loves to stop and smell the flowers. He doesn't fight like all of the other bulls, he'd rather just sit in a field of flowers. One day, he gets stung by a bee and it hurts so badly that he is bucking and has steam coming out of his nose. The bull fighter scouts see him and put him in the ring. All the ladies at the bull fight have beautiful flowers on their hats, so Ferdinand is in heaven!! He won't fight, he just enjoys the flowers.

Here are a few photos of my own little Ferdinand exploring the new fall flowers that I planted yesterday. He has started to pick them and give them to me...warms a mommy's heart!

Playing Hard

On Monday night, we made homemade pizza with our neighbors. It was a beautiful night, so we sat outside and then played. They have a 4 year old named Cohen and a 15 month old named Leighton. I thought Owen would love playing with Leighton, but he tries to be a big kid and loves following Cohen around. Plus, Cohen has really cool big kid toys!!!

All about the Sticks and the Weeds

At 18 months, Mr. O is obsessed with sticks, rocks and weeds. Ronda takes the boys to the park every day and every day she either writes on his report card or tells us stories about how he found a weed and wouldn't let it go. Today we spent the day in Stillwater, walking by the river, having lunch at Nacho Mama's and playing at the Teddy Bear park. This was one of the first times we got to see him in action with his stick and weed obsession! Even with all of the fun things to do, he kept going for the weeds.

He LOVED writing on the chalkboard!

Love this picture! He was actually pulling himself up and the tongue was out because he was focused and determined.

And then it was time to take our tired boy (and his weeds) home for a nap!
