Happy (and Hot!) Fourth of July!

Our 4th of July plans changed a bit because of the extreme heat.  We were originally going to go to a parade and then to the Hastings water park.  Paul was busy working on restaining the swing set we got from some friends and he was HOT!  Owen and I played Hungry, Hungry Hippos, put together lots of puzzles and made M&M cookies to keep busy in the AC.

We decided early in the morning to skip the parade since it was so hot, but then when Owen woke up from his nap and Paul was on a roll with the swing set, we decided to just put out Owen's pool and a fun sprinkler toy and had fun in the yard.  We weren't planning on going to see fireworks because he was up late to see them on Sunday night and because he is very afraid of the noise.  The last few nights he's woken up scared by the fireworks that people in our neighbothood were setting off.  We put an iPod in his room last night and he didn't wake up at all. :)
