He's a Five Pounder!

It's official - he's a five pounder! 5 lbs., 1/2 oz. to be exact. Owen continues to take food from his bottle very well. This morning he ate 28 of his 40 ml from the bottle. On Friday, Paul got him to take 33 ml!

He had a few spells yesterday, but he is getting very good at pulling himself back up, so we don't have to intervene. Our nurse's hope is that he will grow out of them completely by the time we go home. More often than not while he is eating, which is good because we are right there with him. He lets out a shrill squeal (in response to the reflux) and then without fail, if you look to the monitor, his heart rate and oxygen levels are dropping. I'm grateful that he lets out the squeal so we at least know when he is having problems. That will be helpful if he is still having them when we go home.

My little cousin Kate drew an adorable picture of Owen and me. As promised, it is hanging in O's room. Here he is checking it out, saying "Thank you Kate! I can't wait to meet you!"
